Background
CRUK offer a range of curated new products alongside their donated items, a proportion of the products are bought as end of line, supporting retailers managing their excess stock. Like many of the businesses I have worked with, there was a heavy reliance on spreadsheets, but the charity also faced no stock management system. My experience working on an earlier project meant I could build a solution that had very little tech support.

Solution
Over 6-8 weeks, working alongside the team, we integrated a buying and merchandising process which included, assortment planning, range sign off and visibility and a weekly S&OP to ensure the logistics operation, which was a blend of in-house and 3PL, could be optimised. The longer-term plan included a significant inventory reduction.
